The 28th Conference of Parties (COP) is slated for 30 November to 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubal, UAE, and it marks a pivotal juncture for global climate action. As the host nation, the UAE spearheads a transformative moment for governments, businesses, and civil societies to collaboratively address climate change. COP28 aims to conduct the first Global Stocktake (GST) of the implementation of the Paris Agreement, in addition to recalibrating efforts and steering the world towards achieving collective and nature climate goals. Uniting world leaders, ministers, negotiators, scientists, and diverse stakeholders, this event is set to be a cornerstone in the ongoing battle against climate change.
At COP28, the Presidency has announced four cross-cutting themes in its thematic days programming that underpin effective, interconnected delivery and highlight subjects raised by stakeholders:
