Mr. Bharat Chadha, Partner, Tech Consulting, Uniqus Consultech.
“The Union Budget 2025-26 underscores India’s ambition to become a formidable player in AI by fostering homegrown innovation, talent development, and technological self-reliance. Strengthening AI capabilities is not just about economic growth—it’s about shaping the future of education, skilling, and industry transformation. Recognizing AI as a strategic priority, the government has introduced key measures to reinforce India’s leadership. A dedicated ₹500 crore Centre of Excellence (CoE) in AI for Education will drive cutting-edge research, AI-powered learning tools, and industry-academia partnerships, ensuring that AI is integrated effectively into education and workforce development. To support this vision, infrastructure upgrades at five IITs—Bhilai, Dharwad, Goa, Jammu, and Tirupati—will accommodate 6,500 additional students, strengthening India’s technology talent pipeline. Establishing National Centres of Excellence for Skilling will further address skill gaps in emerging technologies, ensuring India’s workforce remains competitive in the AI-driven global economy.”
